I’m thrilled to announce a new opportunity for teen writers! The idea to create a prompt writing workshop for teens was inspired by a dedicated Wake Forest mom whose teenage daughter loves to write. Limited extracurricular writing opportunities motivated us to build a space for teenagers who want to creatively express through writing. We’re recruiting 8th and 9th graders for this event.
The Story Tellers Bookstore in downtown Wake Forest will be our house for this four-week series from April 8th through the 29th. I’ve held groups there before and the atmosphere is just what we writers need.
We will follow the AWA method (see AWA tab). Peer to peer feedback will comment only on the strength of the writing and what’s inspiring. This workshop will follow the same timeline as all my workshops – I’ll bring prompts, we will write and share our work if we choose, and offer positive feedback.
Check the Wake Forest tab on this site for dates and details.
